Top players of the Russian team such as Alexander Golovin (Monaco), Arsen Zakharyan (Sociedad), Anton Miranchuk (Atlanta United) are all absent from the centralized list announced by the Russian Football Federation (RFS).
"Alexey Miranchuk, who just signed a contract with Atlanta of America, is facing logistical difficulties. We decided to give him time to get used to the club and establish life in a new country," Russia coach Valery Karpin explains.
“Due to injury, Arsen Zakharyan will continue his recovery in Spain and he is not on the list. Alexander Golovin missed the first round of the French championship. He had just started training with the club so the coaching staff decided to give him time to recover. Both will not make many long flights in the next few days," coach Valery Karpin added.
The Russian team's roster this time includes 33 players and 5 goalkeepers. Most of these are playing for domestic clubs such as Lokomotiv Moscow, Zenit and Spartak Moscow. The shortlist of 24-25 players will be announced by coach Valery Karpin at the end of August.
During the tour to Vietnam, the Russian team will face host Vietnam on September 5. On September 7, the Russian team will meet the Thai team.
