Recently, in Vancouver (Canada), the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Korean Football Association (KFA) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation (MoU) for the new phase. Representatives of the two sides attending the signing ceremony included VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan and KFA President Chung Mong Gyu.
The new agreement was implemented right before the 76th FIFA Congress, continuing the cooperative relationship established since 2018. After nearly a decade of implementing many coordination programs, the two football backgrounds continue to agree to expand cooperation with a term of 4 years and have an automatic mechanism to extend for another 2 years.

According to the signed content, VFF and KFA will strengthen coordination at international and regional football events, and promote the exchange of professional personnel.
Coaches, referees, lecturers and football management officials of the two countries will have the opportunity to participate in training courses, seminars and professional development programs organized by each side.
One of the notable points of the memorandum is the expansion of cooperation in the youth training system. The two sides will exchange coaches working at football academies, and support community football development programs and training successor forces.
In the refereeing segment, VFF and KFA agreed to create conditions for elite referees of AFC and FIFA to participate in officiating international friendly matches. The two federations also aim to coordinate in organizing training courses and professional improvement for the refereeing team in each country.
In addition, national teams, futsal, women's football and youth teams of the two countries will continue to be supported in training, exchange and international competition. The two sides committed to supporting expertise, training conditions and organizing friendly matches with suitable opponents to improve professional quality.

In the field of league management, V.League and K.League are also oriented to strengthen connection. Cooperation content includes sharing experience in league management, stadium operation, competition organization and sports medicine.
The new Memorandum of Understanding is considered a step in the cooperation relationship between Vietnamese and Korean football, expanding more development opportunities at the national team level, youth training and professional football management in the coming time.
