According to Lao Dong, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will continue to choose Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho) as the home stadium of the Vietnam team if they win a ticket to the semi-finals of the ASEAN Cup 2024.
If Vietnam wins Group B, they will face Singapore in the semi-finals. The first leg will be played in Singapore on December 26 and the second leg will be played in Viet Tri on December 29.
Otherwise, if they enter the semi-finals as second place, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will meet Thailand at home on December 27 in the first leg and play the second leg away on December 30.
At this time, VFF as well as local organizers have finalized the ticket sales plan for the upcoming ASEAN Cup semi-final match.
Currently, the Vietnamese team is playing the final match of the group stage against Myanmar at Viet Tri Stadium.
Quang Hai and his teammates have the right to decide whether to enter the semi-finals as group B winners if they have a draw or win against Myanmar in the last round; or are only allowed to lose by 1 goal and must score against Myanmar (lose 1-2, 2-3, 3-4...).
In case of losing 0-1 to Myanmar, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team need to wait for Indonesia to beat the Philippines with a difference of no more than 2 goals (2-1, 2-0, 3-1...).
In addition, the Vietnamese team will enter the semi-finals as second place in the group after losing 0-1 to Myanmar and Indonesia beating the Philippines by 3 goals or more (3-0, 4-1, 4-0...).
