On the afternoon of June 1, the U16 Vietnam team won a favorable result against U16 Saudi Arabia in the final match of the 2025 CFA Team China U16 International Friendly Tournament.
The team of coach Cristiano Roland and his team conceded a goal very early in the 27th minute. Abdullah Al Dawsari was the one who finished to help U16 Saudi Arabia take the lead with a score of 1-0.
However, just 3 minutes later, Nguyen Le Quang Khoi fired an impressive shot that defeated the opposing goalkeeper to equalize for U16 Vietnam. In the 78th minute, Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc shined with a beautiful free kick to seal a 2-1 victory for the "Golden Star Warriors".
Previously, in the second match, U16 Vietnam also had a brave performance against U16 China. Despite being led by the home team with 2 quick goals, the players played impressively to hold the score to a 2-2 draw with Dai Nhan and Sy Bach.
The most regrettable thing for U16 Vietnam was a 1-2 defeat to U16 Australia in the opening match even though Mr. Roland's students were the ones who opened the score.
At the end of the tournament, U16 Vietnam won 1, drew 1 and lost 1. These are very encouraging results for Nguyen Luc and his teammates. Therefore, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation decided to reward coach Cristiano Roland and his team with 400 million VND.
