On the afternoon of June 1 (Vietnam time), U16 Vietnam entered the final match of the 2025 U16 CFA Team China tournament against U16 Saudi Arabia.
Entering the match, coach Cristiano Roland's students took the initiative. The young Vietnamese players played defensively, sticking to the opponent to wait for the opportunity. Both teams played on equal terms, fiercely competing in the midfield area.
The efforts of Chu Ba Huan and his teammates only helped U16 Vietnam keep the net in the first 26 minutes. In the 27th minute, Abdullah Al Dawsari rushed in to finish decisively after U16 Vietnam's clearance, leaving the Vietnamese representative's defense unable to react. U16 Saudi Arabia took the lead with a score of 1-0.
However, just 3 minutes later, Nguyen Le Quang Khoi finished into the Saudi Arabia U16 net to equalize for Vietnam U16.
Entering the second half, U16 Vietnam had difficulty in the 56th minute when a player fouled an opponent in the penalty area. Luckily for coach Roland's team, the Saudi Arabian U16 player hit the crossbar.
In the following minutes, players from both teams actively looked for opportunities to put the ball into the opponent's net. However, the playing style still lacks cohesion, causing both sides to miss many dangerous opportunities.
It was not until the 78th minute that Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc shone with a beautiful free kick, helping U16 Vietnam take a 2-1 lead.
In the final minutes, U16 Saudi Arabia tried very hard to find a goal but were unsuccessful. In the end, U16 Vietnam defeated U16 Saudi Arabia with a score of 2-1 to end this year's tournament with 1 win, 1 loss and 1 draw.
