On August 28, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in coordination with Viettel Telecom Corporation held a signing ceremony and announced the Main Sponsor of the 2027 AFC U20 Championship Qualifiers - Group C.
This is the first time Viettel Telecom has accompanied a U20 Asian qualifying tournament, aiming to support the playground for young players. Group C will take place from August 31 to September 6 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho), with the participation of U20 Vietnam and the national teams in the group.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Deputy Secretary General of VFF said that youth football plays an important role in the long-term development strategy of Vietnamese football.
Today, VFF respectfully organizes the announcement ceremony of the administrative unit. Youth football is always a foundation for sustainable development, youth training is one of the key strategic tasks. In recent years, VFF has continuously strived to create a playground for youth football, contributing to helping youth football gradually develop," Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha shared.
According to the agreement, TV360 is the unit that broadcasts all matches of Group C. Fans can watch the tournament on the TV360 application and official VFF media channels.
The 2027 AFC U20 Championship qualifiers are one of the important tournaments in the process of selecting and accumulating experience for young Vietnamese players. Organizing Group C at home also creates conditions for U20 Vietnam to have a favorable preparation before entering official matches.
According to the draw results, U20 Vietnam is in Group C along with U20 North Korea, U20 Iran and U20 Palestine. The teams will play in a round-robin format to calculate points for ranking.
The first-placed team in each group along with 7 out of 8 second-placed teams with the best results will win tickets to the 2027 AFC U20 Championship finals.
