During the FIFA Days in March, U22 Vietnam will gather in Hanoi and practice in parallel with the national team under the guidance of coach Kim Sang-sik.
This is also the first training session of U22 Vietnam towards the 33rd SEA Games. In addition to the young faces that competed in the ASEAN Cup 2024 such as Khuat Van Khang, Bui Vi Hao... the Korean strategist will call up many other factors to check their performance and screen the force.
According to the plan, after about 2 weeks of training, U22 Vietnam will leave for China to participate in the CFA Team China 2025 international friendly tournament in Jiangsu.
U22 Vietnam has the opportunity to compete and rub shoulders with quality opponents in the region such as U22 Korea, U22 Uzbekistan and U22 China. From there, the players will accumulate the necessary experience towards the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers taking place in September and the 33rd SEA Games at the end of the year.
Because the Vietnamese and U22 Vietnam teams are focusing on the same time and competing at the same time, Mr. Kim Sang-sik will choose an assistant to take on the role of head coach to lead the youth team participating in the CFA Team China tournament, most likely Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh.
According to the match schedule, U22 Vietnam will meet U22 Korea on March 20, U22 Uzbekistan on March 23 and U22 China on March 25.
