On July 24, Mr. Ta Van Thong - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Indonesia - visited and encouraged the U23 Vietnam team at the military base in Jakarta. This is a spiritual gift for the whole team before the semi-final match of the 2025 U23 Southeast Asian Championship.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Ta Van Thong shared that despite his busy work, he still closely followed the competition journey of U23 Vietnam in the tournament.
The Ambassador congratulated the whole team for passing the group stage as the top team in Group B, and expressed his confidence in the solidarity, fiery competitive spirit and serious preparation of the coaching staff as well as the players.
He also emphasized that although the Vietnamese community in Indonesia is not too large, the spirit of encouragement from overseas Vietnamese is still very strong. The Ambassador affirmed that he will continue to be present at the stadium to support the team, considering this a way to express the affection and pride of Vietnamese people far from home for the youth team.
Welcoming the working delegation, Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Head of the U23 Vietnam National Team - expressed his deep gratitude to the Ambassador and Embassy for their timely attention and support for the team.
Mr. Tran Anh Tu said that the whole team is maintaining a high level of determination, and has prepared carefully in terms of expertise to aim for the goal of reaching the final.

According to the plan, in the afternoon of the same day (July 24), coach Kim Sang-sik and his students will continue to go to the field to practice, perfect tactics and review the squad.
The semi-final match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Philippines will take place at 4:00 p.m. on July 25 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (Jakarta, Indonesia). This is an opportunity for U23 Vietnam to take another step forward in their journey to conquer the regional championship.
