Tien Giang - The female nurse and driver who saved the accident victim were awarded a certificate of merit by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Medical Trade Union.

On January 21, Mr. Nguyen Trung Tan - Chairman of the Tien Giang Province Health Trade Union - said that the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Health Trade Union signed a decision to award a certificate of merit to a female nurse and a driver of Cai Lay Regional General Hospital (Tien Giang Province) for their outstanding achievements while performing first aid and promptly transporting traffic accident victims to medical facilities.

Previously, at around 0:00 on January 7, on the way back after transferring a patient to Tien Giang Provincial General Hospital, nurse Nguyen Thi Le Thuy (Infectious Diseases Department) and driver Nguyen Van Tan discovered a collision between a motorbike and an electric bicycle at the Ap Bac intersection in Cai Lay town (Tien Giang province).

At the scene, the victim was identified as Ms. T.T.X.H (48 years old, residing in Nhi Qui commune, Cai Lay town), lying unconscious, bleeding profusely from the head and was carried to the side of the road by local people. Seeing this, driver Tan coordinated with local people to contact the victim's family and the local police, while nurse Thuy quickly provided first aid and checked Ms. H's vital signs.

Immediately afterwards, the victim was taken to Cai Lay Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment. At around 0:15, the patient was transferred to the Emergency Resuscitation Department. The on-duty team immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, performed necessary paraclinical tests and assessed the patient's condition.

After vital signs stabilized, the patient was transferred to Tien Giang Provincial General Hospital for continued treatment.
