Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said it has directed the study and implementation of a policy to support tuition fees for children under 5 years old and high school students in the area.
Khanh Hoa province assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance to urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to competent authorities to issue policies on tuition support for children under 5 years old and high school students in the province for the 2025-2026 school year.
According to a report from the Department of Education and Training, in the 2025-2026 school year, it is expected that 34,041 children under 5 years old will receive tuition support with a budget of 21.7 billion VND.
The number of public and private high school students, continuing education students, and vocational education institutions receiving tuition support is 46,264 students with a budget of 24.2 billion VND.
In 2024, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council passed a Resolution on tuition support policy for preschool children, general education students, and continuing education students studying at public educational institutions in the 2024-2025 school year.
According to the recently passed Resolution, during the 9 months of the 2024-2025 school year, Khanh Hoa province will support 100% of tuition fees for preschool children, primary school students, and continuing education students studying at public educational institutions in the province. This support level is implemented according to the tuition fee collection level for the 2024-2025 school year.
The first time will support tuition fees for 4 months in 2024 and the second time will support tuition fees for 5 months in 2025. The total cost to implement this policy is more than 75 billion VND.
The issuance of the above policy aims to promptly share difficulties, support people, reduce the financial burden on parents and students, and minimize the situation of students dropping out of school when entering the new school year 2024 - 2025.
