The Ministry of Education and Training is seeking opinions on the draft Circular regulating codes, appointments and salary classification for teachers teaching in public educational institutions.
At each level of education, teachers are divided into three groups: Teachers, main teachers and senior teachers; no longer divided into grades I, II, III as at present.
In particular, Article 8 of the draft Circular stipulates the appointment and salary arrangement for high school teachers. Specifically as follows:
1. Officials who are teaching at public high schools who meet the standards of professional ethics and training and fostering qualifications prescribed in the Vocational standards for high school teachers are appointed to the corresponding professional title according to the provisions of Clause 4, Article 2 of this Circular as follows:
a) Appointment to the professional title of high school teacher - Code V.07.05.15 for high school teachers grade III - Code V.07.05.15;
b) Appointment to the professional title of senior high school teacher - Code V.07.05.14 for grade II high school teachers - Code V.07.05.14;
c) Appointment to the professional title of senior high school teacher - Code V.07.05.13 for high school teachers of grade I - Code V.07.07.10.
2. Officials appointed to the professional titles of high school teachers as prescribed in this Circular shall apply the corresponding salary table issued with Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP, specifically as follows:
a) High school teachers - Code V.07.05.15, are subject to the salary coefficient of type A1 civil servants, from salary coefficient 2.34 to salary coefficient 4.98;
b) Senior high school teachers - Code V.07.05.14, are subject to the salary coefficient of type A2 civil servants, group A2.1, from salary coefficient 4.40 to salary coefficient 6.78;
c) Senior high school teachers - Code V.07.05.13, are subject to the salary coefficient of civil servants of type A3, group A3.2, from salary coefficient 5.75 to salary coefficient 7.55.
Thus, with the expected salary coefficient of 2.34 - 7.55, high school teachers will receive a monthly salary of 5.4756 - 17.667 million VND excluding allowances.
