Accordingly, making handmade toy cars will help children develop creative thinking and practical skills. Instead of using ready-made toys, making a toy by hand will make children more excited because they make their favorite toy by hand.
Mothers with babies can make a simple toy car with their children from ice cream sticks and plastic bottle caps that is convenient but does not take too much time.
To create this toy car, you need to prepare 4 popsicle sticks, 4 plastic bottle caps, glue, 1 plastic straw, 2 toothpicks, small rubber bands and some other basic tools. First, two popsicle sticks are attached parallel to each other to make the body of the car.
The distance between the two popsicle sticks should be enough to attach the axle. Use glue to firmly attach the two sticks together. For extra strength, you can attach another popsicle stick in the middle of the car body to firmly fix it.
Cut the plastic straw into two short pieces, each about 4cm long. Tape the two pieces of straw across the two ends of the frame to act as the wheel hubs. Next, use a toothpick to thread through the straw, making sure the toothpick can move freely inside the straw so the wheels can turn.
Use a small nail to punch a hole in the center of each plastic bottle cap. Make sure the hole is big enough for the toothpick to fit through, but not so big that the wheels come loose. Continue attaching the bottle caps to the two ends of the toothpicks, creating 4 wheels. If necessary, use glue to secure the wheels to the toothpicks for extra security.
After mounting the wheels to the axle, try moving the bike on a flat surface to check the smoothness of the wheels. If the wheels do not turn smoothly, the bottle caps or axles can be adjusted. Finally, you can use rubber bands to secure some details and increase the stability of the bike.
In addition, you can decorate the car with paint or stickers to create a unique, personal touch for your child.
