Dirty hairbrushes and the risks to your hair
According to research published in the Journal of Dermatological Treatment, frequent use of a hairbrush can lead to hair loss. Additionally, a dirty hairbrush can cause significant damage to your hair and scalp.
Hairbrushes that are not cleaned for a long time will accumulate hair, dust, oil and dead skin cells, this accumulation creates conditions for bacteria, fungi and other microorganisms to grow. Using an unclean brush will transfer these impurities back to the scalp and potentially clog hair follicles, leading to problems such as dandruff and scalp irritation.
Other harmful effects of dirty combs on hair

Dirt and residue on your comb can strip your hair of its natural shine, leaving it looking lifeless and unhealthy.
