"The investor has submitted documents in Long Bien district. Long Bien District has established a monitoring and evaluation council to issue a license according to its authority" - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Construction informed.
Currently, the contractor has also approached to work with the investor to operate the Viet Hung Urban Area Wastewater Treatment Plant. Within 6 months, the authorities will monitor the quality to issue an environmental license. "Investors are still responsible until they have an environmental license" - Mr. Cong said.
According to the reporter's records on April 3, at the Viet Hung Urban Area Wastewater Treatment Plant, workers have started working and operating the plant.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Rust at the Viet Hung Urban Area Wastewater Treatment Station" reflecting the state of the wastewater treatment plant in Viet Hung (Long Bien, Hanoi) deteriorating and shabby due to lack of maintenance for a long time.

The wastewater treatment plant of Viet Hung Urban Area (Long Bien District, Hanoi) started construction in 2014. In terms of scale, the Wastewater Treatment Station has a capacity of 7,600 m3/day and night, applying AO treatment technology (Anoxic - Oxic), after treatment, the wastewater is discharged into the Viet Hung ditch, then flowing into the Cau Bai River.
The project was completed in 2017, but has not been handed over to the management unit. Meanwhile, domestic wastewater of more than 20,000 people living in Viet Hung Urban Area still flows directly into Viet Hung ditch every day, causing environmental pollution.
