The activity aims to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Bank of Vietnam (May 6, 1951 - May 6, 2026), respond to the Banking Industry Digital Transformation Day 2026 (May 11, 2026), and at the same time spread the spirit of innovation and creativity, promoting digital transformation throughout the industry with the message: "Proactive digitalization - Breakthrough for the future".
The Banking sector is determined to promote digital transformation and innovation
The "Banking Industry Digital Transformation" Contest in 2026 recorded a large scale with the participation of more than 600 contestants from 32 teams, including 23 commercial banks and credit institutions; 9 units directly under the State Bank, foreign banks and Fintech companies. The contest demonstrates the strong determination of the entire banking industry in promoting digital transformation, innovation and making positive contributions to the national digital transformation process.
According to Mr. Pham Tien Dung - Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Chairman of the Vietnam Bank Union, Head of the Steering Committee cum Head of the Organizing Committee of the "Banking Industry Digital Transformation" Contest 2026, the Contest is organized as a boost to spread digital thinking, promote lifelong learning and arouse the spirit of innovation in each official.
With the theme "Proactive digitalization - Breakthrough to the future", the Banking sector affirms its determination to be a pioneer in the national digital transformation, building a modern, safe, efficient digital banking ecosystem and putting customers at the center.
The contest is not only a movement-based celebration activity, but also concretizes the Party and State's guidelines and orientations on digital transformation in the banking system.
The goal of the Contest is to raise awareness, standardize knowledge, and develop digital capacity for officials and union members; helping each individual master technology, professional processes and flexibly apply them in practice, contributing to improving the operational efficiency of each unit.
Trade unions continue to affirm their role in accompanying professionals
The contest is expected to become a forum for units to exchange, learn, share experiences and propose initiatives and innovation solutions associated with the practical operation of banking.
This is also an opportunity for the Trade Union organization to affirm its role in accompanying expertise, not only caring for the lives of workers but also participating in the implementation of key political tasks of the industry.
An important highlight of the Contest is contributing to spreading the "Digital Education for All" movement. Through building and disseminating a question bank with about 400 questions, the content covers core areas of digital transformation, units can proactively organize internal learning contests, thereby widely disseminating knowledge throughout the system.
This approach helps learning become flexible, close, in the spirit of "learning without learning", thereby gradually forming digital thinking and digital culture in each official and employee.

With the message "Proactive digitalization - Breakthrough in the future", the Contest is not only a professional competition but also an intellectual playground, contributing to concretizing the movement "Digital literacy". The content focuses on issues: Data, digital assets; digital customer experience; technology and digital platforms; management, administration, strategy; digital human resources and culture; legality, compliance; safety, security, confidentiality; practical application and handling of arising situations.
