On October 19, according to information from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province, from May 2024, the department has coordinated a survey of businesses and workers working in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park - according to the Project to convert Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into a commercial - service urban area and improve the environment.
As a result of the survey implementation for enterprises, up to now, 59/133 enterprises employing 5,286 employees have completed the survey. Of these, more than 2,400 employees want to continue working for the enterprise at the new location and nearly 1,000 employees want to quit their jobs, requesting the enterprise to resolve the regime according to regulations.
Of the 59 enterprises that conducted the survey, 10 enterprises employing 1,916 workers have not yet developed a plan and have not yet determined the relocation location.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province - said that for the nearly 1,000 workers who do not follow the enterprise when relocating, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs also has a support plan.
Leaders of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province will coordinate with relevant agencies to assess the needs of each worker to have policies on job referrals and vocational training guidance.
For workers who wish to find jobs at other businesses, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province and relevant agencies will connect with businesses that are recruiting workers.
For workers who want to learn a trade to change jobs, they will be supported with free elementary level vocational training for 6 months.
For workers who need to borrow capital to solve employment, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province will also coordinate with the Social Policy Bank to resolve from the employment settlement fund.
In addition, there are 175 workers (mainly older workers) who want to retire early.
Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park is the oldest industrial park in Vietnam, established in 1963 under the name Bien Hoa Industrial Park. After 1975, Bien Hoa Industrial Park was renamed Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park.
