On September 6, the Trade Union of Vietnam - Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital (Quang Tri province) said that it had just organized an expanded hospital running race, towards celebrating the 45th anniversary of the hospital's inauguration.
The race has 2 distances including 4.5km, symbolizing the 45th anniversary of the inauguration of Vietnam - Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital and 9.9km, associated with the inauguration day of hospital 9. 9.
Among the 250 participants, there are 150 athletes who are officials and staff of Vietnam - Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital, including doctors, nurses, technicians and staff of functional departments.
The remaining 100 athletes come from Quang Binh Runners Club, working in many different fields. Some athletes of the club living in Hanoi and abroad have also returned to participate in the tournament.
Athletes are divided into 2 groups including Quang Binh Runners Club and VNCBRunners Club. The two groups have their own prize structure but compete on the same track.
Mr. Tran Anh Duong - Chairman of the Trade Union of Vietnam - Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital - said that the race is an activity towards celebrating the 45th anniversary of the hospital's inauguration, while creating a playground for health training, increasing the connection between medical staff and the community; thereby, the movement of exercising and taking care of health is spreading.
Quang Binh Runners Club also participated in supporting the tournament, and at the same time donated 18 million VND to the poor patient support fund of Vietnam - Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital.
