Mr. Nguyen Viet Son - Director of the Department of Oil and Gas and Coal - was appointed Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

According to the Government Electronic Information Portal, on the afternoon of September 6, Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc handed over the Prime Minister's Decision appointing Mr. Nguyen Viet Son - Director of the Department of Oil and Gas and Coal - to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

The new Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Viet Son was born on September 2, 1970, in Ha Tinh; has professional qualifications: Engineer of petrochemical technology, PhD in petrochemical catalysis.

On behalf of the Government and the Prime Minister, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc congratulated the Ministry of Industry and Trade on having a new leader and congratulated Mr. Nguyen Viet Son on being appointed Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Son is a well-trained official, has a long time working at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, is an experienced leader, grew up from the Oil and Gas industry and has held many important positions in units of the Industry and Trade sector.

In all working positions, Mr. Nguyen Viet Son always showed himself to be an exemplary, dedicated, and responsible leader in performing his assigned responsibilities and tasks.

The appointment of Mr. Nguyen Viet Son to the position of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade shows the trust and expectations of the Party, Government leaders, leaders, civil servants and employees of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for himself as well as for the development of the Ministry and the Industry and Trade sector.

Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc wished that the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade would continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, unity, and be more proactive, more drastic, and more responsible in order to effectively implement the functions and tasks of the Ministry and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in which special attention should be paid to ensuring energy for the economy, not allowing electricity and gasoline shortages in all situations; maximizing opportunities from free trade agreements to promote and expand export markets, effectively controlling trade deficits; promoting production and developing the domestic market...

With the addition of one deputy minister, the Ministry of Industry and Trade currently has 4 deputy ministers including: Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai and Mr. Nguyen Viet Son. The Minister of Industry and Trade is Mr. Le Manh Hung.
