Trade Union digital transformation ecosystem
Working in shifts at a business in Hoa Khanh ward (Da Nang City), Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan admitted that she does not always have time to meet Trade Union officials to ask about regimes, policies or register to participate in programs for union members. "Many days after work it is late, if you want to ask for some information, you also have to wait until office hours. If everything can be done immediately on the phone, it will be very convenient. Just a few operations to send a petition or look up information, workers will see the Trade Union closer to them" - Ms. Lan shared.
That is also the need of many workers today, when smartphones have become tools associated with work and daily life. Workers want Trade Union services to also be convenient such as online payment, scheduling medical examinations or doing administrative procedures in the digital environment.
Starting from that reality, Hoa Khanh Ward Trade Union officially launched the Trade Union Digital Transformation Ecosystem on the Zalo Mini App platform. Unlike a separate application, this is a platform integrating many digital utilities on the same system, helping union members easily access Trade Union services right on the familiar Zalo application.
In the early stages, the system integrated AI Chatbot "Digital Assistant" to support policy and nghiệp vụ (professional) answering; receiving feedback and recommendations online; registering work schedules; sending electronic invitations; using online forms and managing data to serve Trade Union activities. The choice of Zalo Mini App also helps employees not have to install new software but can still use the utilities quickly.
Digital transformation for better service
According to Mr. Tra Thanh Quang - Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Khanh Ward, Chairman of the Hoa Khanh Ward Trade Union, the biggest goal of building a digital ecosystem is not technology, but the quality of serving union members. "Digital transformation does not replace trade union officials; digital transformation helps trade union officials reach union members faster, closer and serve better" - Mr. Quang emphasized.
Mr. Tra Thanh Quang informed: Previously, many tasks had to be performed directly or through many intermediaries, but now they can be processed immediately in the digital environment. This helps save time for both union members and trade union officials, and creates an additional channel to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of workers in a timely manner.
In fact, the digital transformation process of Hoa Khanh Ward Trade Union has begun before this ecosystem was put into operation. The unit has implemented the "Online voluntary union membership application" model, allowing employees to register to join the Trade Union right on their smartphones. In parallel with that are Zalo groups supporting businesses, guiding the completion of dossiers for establishing grassroots Trade Unions and answering arising problems.
According to Mr. Tra Thanh Quang, digital transformation is only truly meaningful when workers feel the convenience and benefits in each service they use. Technology is not the destination but a tool for the Trade Union organization to serve better, closer and more promptly. In the context of strong digital transformation taking place in all fields, the Trade Union organization proactively applying AI and digital platforms not only helps innovate operating methods but also contributes to building the image of a modern, professional and friendly organization for union members.
