Speaking at the opening, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour - said that in recent years, trade union levels across the country have had many practical activities to propagate and honor the good values of family. Today, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Vietnam Family Day (June 28, 2001 - June 28, 2026), in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour organized a conference to commend 95 typical families of workers, civil servants, and laborers (CNVCLĐ) nationwide in the period 2021 - 2026.

The program is even more meaningful when it takes place on the occasion of officials, union members and workers nationwide excitedly competing to achieve achievements to celebrate the success of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress.

The 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress has identified the goal of building a modern and strong Vietnamese working class, mastering science and technology, adapting to digital transformation and international integration. To build a modern worker contingent, first of all, it is necessary to focus on building happy, progressive and sustainable working-class families.

To achieve that goal, trade union levels need to continue to pay more attention to family work; continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines on family work, gender equality and comprehensive development of Vietnamese people; promote activities to care for and support union members and workers; build an equal, progressive, and safe working environment; create conditions for workers to balance work and family life" - Ms. Thai Thu Xuong emphasized.

Through a careful dossier selection process, the selection council selected 95 families representing will, determination and love from all over the country to be awarded Certificates of Merit by the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Among them, there are 44 families of direct production workers, 47 families of management officials and 4 families of full-time trade union officials.

Among the selected dossiers, there are some particularly typical dossiers that are families whose husbands work for long days in islands, border areas or in the armed forces, often away from home, but the members still strive to overcome difficulties, maintain family happiness and complete assigned tasks well.

Typically, the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue (HCMC) - a full-time trade union official - whose husband is an official of DK1 Oil Rig under Naval Region 2, regularly working for long days in the sea and islands. Despite the specific circumstances, she still completed her trade union work tasks well, taking care of her family and raising children, achieving many academic achievements.

When my husband is away on business trips, I encounter many difficulties but still try every day. Thanks to the empathy, sharing, and concern of leaders and trade union organizations, along with the responsibility of a trade union official, I have overcome challenges in life and work" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue shared.

Meanwhile, the family of Mr. Deo Duc Luc - Master, doctor working at Son La Provincial General Hospital - is a family of three generations living under one roof. In 2021, when he was sent by the agency to study to improve his professional qualifications, the family continuously encountered many upheavals. Despite facing many difficulties, his family is still united, encouraging each other to overcome challenges.

In difficult periods of life, our family always receives timely attention, encouragement and support from the trade union organization. In particular, the Son La Provincial Labor Federation and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor have always accompanied, shared, and helped us have more strength to overcome challenges" - Mr. Luc shared.

There are also many typical family groups such as families of many generations living together, families with many initiatives and creativity, and families of grassroots trade union officials who have made many contributions to trade union activities.
