Bringing trade union activities closer to workers
Workers' Month 2026 takes place in the context of the local government model having many changes, requiring grassroots trade union activities to adapt faster and more flexibly to meet the needs of union members and workers.

In her position as Chairwoman of Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union, directly in charge of trade union activities in 3 communes Nam Phuoc, Duy Nghia and Thu Bon, Ms. Lam Thi Vy has proactively advised, developed plans and implemented many practical activities towards grassroots levels.
From the management and connection of the Commune Trade Union, 100% of grassroots trade unions in the area have organized activities to respond to Workers' Month; 75% of units participate in the Action Month on occupational safety and health.
The union member health care program is being implemented with a total resource of about 170 million VND; 45 support packages are handed directly to workers in difficult circumstances.
In addition, the trade union also coordinated to disburse 41 preferential loan applications with a total amount of more than 1.23 billion VND, helping many union members have more resources to stabilize their lives.
Not only stopping at immediate support activities, Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union also focuses on building long-term coordination programs with the social insurance sector, medical facilities, government and local police forces to create a sustainable foundation for workers' care.
Sharing about the implementation of activities, Ms. Lam Thi Vy said: "We always determine that all activities must originate from the actual needs of union members and workers. The Trade Union must not only care for with gifts or immediate support, but also create long-term value programs to help workers receive health care, access policies and improve their quality of life.
Creative models create spillover effects
The highlight in this year's Workers' Month in Nam Phuoc is a series of new models being implemented with a close and practical approach.
In which, the program "Refreshing summer - Supporting workers" has become a highlight when mobilizing businesses to accompany and distribute nearly 5,000 nutritional products to nearly 1,000 union members, workers, fishermen, small traders and labor forces in the area.
Along with that, the Commune Trade Union has coordinated with Tam Tri Quang Nam General Hospital to develop a program to care for union members' health and launch the column "Doctors accompany union members and workers" on a digital platform.
Another highly appreciated initiative is the "Labor Safety Culture in the Workplace" model. Two units selected as pilots are Anh Sang 7 Garment Enterprise and Phan Ngoc Anh Construction Materials Co., Ltd.
In addition, online photo and video contests about union members and workers; youth startup forums; the model "Heo dat dong hanh support youth startups" also create more space for young workers to participate in trade union activities in a more approachable and modern way.
One of the notable points in the activities of Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union is the ability to mobilize social resources and create synchronous coordination between many units.
In the first 6 months of 2026, the Commune Trade Union implemented about 150 news, articles, and propaganda videos, far exceeding the assigned targets. Many models and activities were reflected by central and local press agencies, contributing to spreading the positive image of the trade union organization to the community.
Ms. Lam Thi Vy's becoming the only individual of the Da Nang City Trade Union to be awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in Workers' Month 2026 is a worthy recognition of the efforts of a grassroots trade union official.
From specific models in Nam Phuoc, Duy Nghia, Thu Bon, it can be seen that when trade unions truly stick to grassroots levels, listen to the needs of union members and proactively innovate operating methods, trade union organizations will continue to affirm their role as a reliable support for workers in the new development stage.
