Year-end meal connects union members, spreads love

Like family meals

When the rest time bell rang, nearly 700 union members, workers, and laborers at U World Sport Vietnam Co., Ltd. (under the Trade Union of Chien Dan commune, Da Nang city) came together to the collective dining hall to attend the "Trade Union Year-end Meal". The atmosphere at the dining hall that day was bustling and completely different from normal days. The meals were prepared thoughtfully with many nutritious dishes and Tet flavors such as: Cari bread, roasted pork, banh chung, milk, fruit, cakes...

This is an opportunity for workers to sit down together, chat, share work stories, family and plans for the new year. For many workers far from home, this is a rare opportunity for them to fully feel the atmosphere of reunion and warmth right at work.

Sitting with colleagues at the year-end meal, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga - a union member, a worker at U World Sport Vietnam Co., Ltd. - emotionally shared: "All year round working hard, having a better year-end meal, and having company and trade union leaders attend and encourage us, we feel respected. The atmosphere is very cozy, like a family meal".

Building trust, fostering long-term attachment

Not only at U World Sport Vietnam Co., Ltd., in the days leading up to Tet, a series of businesses in Chien Dan commune such as Enigma Co., Ltd., Hoa Tho Garment Joint Stock Company, Germton Development Co., Ltd.... also simultaneously organized the Trade Union Year-end Meal for more than 1,000 union members and workers. Meals imbued with the flavor of Tet were organized in a friendly and joyful atmosphere. Many units also integrated activities such as Tet gift giving, lucky draws, cultural exchanges, and folk games, contributing to bringing complete joy to workers before the New Year.

At the Dien Ban Ward Trade Union, Da Nang City, grassroots trade unions of Daikyo Ohta Clothing Co., Ltd., Tri Tam Medical Co., Ltd., Phong Son One Member Co., Ltd.... also simultaneously organized the Trade Union Year-End Meal. The program took place in a lively and warm atmosphere with many connecting activities such as "home-grown" art, teambuilding, lucky draws with many meaningful gifts. The intimate meal was organized with an average price of about 180,000 VND/meal, showing the specific and practical concern of businesses and trade unions for employees.

Assessing the meaning of this activity, Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City Labor Federation - said: "The Trade Union New Year's Eve meal is an opportunity for union members, workers, trade union organizations, employers and government and local leaders to share, confide, create an atmosphere of solidarity and understanding. Thereby, contributing to building trust and attachment of union members and workers to the Trade Union organization and businesses.

According to Mr. Le Van Dai, this is a new activity encouraged to be organized during Tet this year, and at the same time inherits and promotes the positive results from the Trade Union Meal model implemented from 2024. The activity is implemented from trade union financial sources, business support or mobilization from other socialized sources.
