Union officials share how to approach union members' sensitive opinions

To fully and accurately receive the opinions of union members, female union officials have skillfully used many different methods and tools.

Ms. Tran Thi Loan (34 years old), a female union official of a garment company in Nam Dinh, said that she has worked for 5 years, so she understands that workers have many comments but is afraid to say them.

Especially issues related to wages, insurance regimes, environment and managers, they only share them with colleagues or those they truly trust.

Therefore, at first, Ms. Loan and the Chairman of the Trade Union and other union officials advised the company's leaders to minimize the number of team leaders, managers, and mid-level managers to the Executive Committee of the Trade Union.

According to Ms. Loan, this method will help union members and workers feel more secure in giving comments to the company's leaders and the union president. Because many opinions are directly related to the management style and communication skills of managers.

When discussing, Ms. Loan also " urged" workers to use the phone numbers of friends or relatives to express their opinions to the company's leaders. Thus, the identity of the sender will be secured and the problem will be resolved faster.

In many areas of the workshop, female union officials and other colleagues have placed many boxes of public comments. According to Ms. Loan, every month, the Union receives quite a lot of comments when opening the mailbox.

"The letter boxes are prioritized for being placed in deserted places, without video surveillance cameras, so it helps people feel more secure. On average, we receive 5 to 10 different opinions from workers per month, said Ms. Loan.

Not only that, the female union official also encouraged workers to frankly give their opinions to the union members they had trusted and voted for. This representative is responsible for keeping information confidential and communicating it to the union officials and company leaders as quickly and honestly as possible.

To make it more convenient for workers to give their opinions during their free time or when returning home, Ms. Loan shared that she has created a form of Google form to collect information online in the form of anonymous.

To let everyone know about this new way of reflecting, Ms. Loan has communicated on FanPage, the company's internal loudspeaker as well as posted QR Codes to access forms at many locations in the workshop. According to Ms. Loan, this method is relatively effective.

Just scan the QR code and fill in the information to complete. Therefore, if you already use a smartphone, it can be easily done. Every day I access the form to see, there are many opinions shared in great detail to help us grasp the thoughts of workers more easily" - Ms. Loan said.

In all methods of accessing information, female union officials always enthusiastically guide and emphasize the security factor in all situations.

In addition to enthusiasm and friendliness, Ms. Loan said that the workers trust her to give her opinions, helping her grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members more specifically.
