On November 15, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held a training conference on Representing, caring for, and protecting the legal and legitimate rights and interests of female workers through dialogue at the workplace.
Attending the conference were Ms. Tran Thu Phuong - Deputy Head of Women's Union, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - along with trade union officials and women's union officials.
The training conference helps employers and employees understand their roles, obligations and responsibilities when participating in labor. For female employees, when participating in labor relations, they have full rights and obligations of employees and are guaranteed by the state equal rights in all aspects with men.
Clarifying issues such as the right to ensure equality in recruitment, training, promotion; the right to ensure employment and income; conditions for enjoying maternity and childbirth benefits; social insurance; termination of labor contracts...
Some opinions and issues were also discussed such as arranging parking areas for pregnant female workers and those with small children; arranging separate food receiving areas and adding an extra meal for pregnant female workers; reducing 1 working hour for pregnant female workers from the first month...
Through the training session, it helps to improve the professional skills of employers and employees through dialogue and negotiation of collective labor agreements; helps union officials have the opportunity to meet, exchange experiences, resolve difficulties in union activities, create trust and a solid support for union members and employees.
