Last year, I did not dare to take on extra work outside of the businesses that I was familiar with and introduced by relatives because I was afraid of not being able to ensure progress. Before and after Tet, there are tax reports and financial reports, each unit does the whole package, I receive 5 million VND in wages. Just counting a few months before and after Tet, I have an income of several tens of millions of VND, equal to 2 months of salary,” Phu said.
According to Phu, the biggest competition in the field of work he is in charge of is to work meticulously, with prestige and to absolutely ensure the time required by the customer. "If I miss an appointment by 1 day, I can immediately lose that customer," Phu affirmed.
Trinh Thi Nga is a saleswoman for a large supermarket in Ha Dong district (Hanoi). Since around October, Nga has posted on her personal page and groups such as apartment buildings, old class groups... to collect cheap combos of goods where she works. Due to the rich variety of products, from clothes, cooking oil, candy, wine, laundry detergent..., the number of people buying together and buying in bulk is quite bustling. "In addition to receiving sales bonuses, I also get to buy at a lower price than the listed price, so during the 2024 Tet season, I earned nearly 25 million VND for the Tet sales period," Nga revealed.
Ms. Trinh Thi Thu Linh is a Chinese interpreter for a company based in Shanghai (China). Last year, near Tet, I earned 18 million VND. After deducting the cost of renting clothes, makeup, etc., I have 12 million VND left to give to my parents for Tet,” Mai Anh said.
Mr. Tran Van Quy, from Chuong My district (Hanoi), is working as a security guard for a business in Thanh Xuan district. Thanks to an introduction from an acquaintance, for the past 3 years, every 2 months before Tet, Mr. Quy has been taking care of the warehouse at night for people in the same district. “The warehouse has dried fruits, wine and salted pork legs. I take care of it 3 nights a week, with 3 people in each shift. Every week the company pays 900,000 VND/person; in the 2 months before Tet, I earn more than 7 million VND to take care of Tet for my wife and children,” said Mr. Quy.
According to Mr. Vu Quang Thanh - Deputy Director of Hanoi Employment Service Center, from the third quarter of 2024, the shift of labor into the service and sales industries in the capital has been clearly seen.
“In the third quarter of 2024, in Hanoi, the demand for recruiting service and sales staff accounted for a high proportion (26.72%), showing the development of the trade and service industries. This is a trend consistent with the strong development of retail, e-commerce and customer service models,” said Mr. Thanh.
According to Mr. Thanh, the expected recruitment demand in the fourth quarter of 2024 of Hanoi enterprises is about 120,000 - 150,000 workers, mainly focusing on the recruitment demand for sales staff, production workers, electronic component assembly workers, etc.
