Golden initiative to increase production and reduce emissions
Saint-Gobain North Vietnam Construction Materials Co., Ltd. specializes in providing lightweight and sustainable construction solutions such as gypsum, fiber cement, brick glue... As a person directly managing production activities, Mr. Luu Trung Bo is always concerned about the problem of improving productivity, reducing costs but still ensuring product quality and sustainable development goals.
According to Mr. Bo, water is one of the 4 key materials for producing gypsum boards, the ratio of water mixing in the process of producing gypsum boards is closely related to the energy consumption of the drying kiln, affecting the speed of the production line and production output.
Reducing the water mixing rate not only reduces production costs and increases profits for businesses themselves, but also directly contributes to saving water resources, reducing pressure on drying kilns, reducing the use of LPG and electricity, thereby helping to protect the environment and reduce CO2 emissions. From reducing pressure on drying kilns, sheet drying capacity and transmission speed are also increased, creating more products in one unit of time, saving the cost of importing sheets to compensate for the remaining output to supply the market.
From this reality, Mr. Bo and his colleagues persistently researched the solution "Reduce the water mixing ratio by 1% on all 9mm thick plaster sheets by optimizing production parameters, using new distributed materials to ensure the spread of plaster mortar without using much water".
The initiative has been applied to production since the beginning of 2025, bringing clear efficiency. Compared to 2024, the enterprise reduced 1,390m3 of water, nearly 71,800 kg of LPG, more than 362,500 kWh of electricity, and at the same time increased about 550,000m2 of finished products each year. The total profit value reached about 7.6 billion VND, while cutting about 418 tons of CO2 emissions, contributing to the implementation of the enterprise's green development goals.
With the effectiveness brought about, the initiative was awarded the Creative Labor Medal by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2025.

Not only does he do his professional work well, Mr. Luu Trung Bo is also a Trade Union Chairman who is always close to union members and employees. He actively coordinates with businesses to organize emulation movements for good labor and creative labor; cares for the material and spiritual life of union members; builds a united and democratic working environment and encourages each employee to promote initiatives in work.
Notably, Mr. Luu Trung Bo and the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union boldly proposed that business leaders build a model "Green - Clean - Beautiful, effectively implementing labor safety culture at the workplace". Thanks to the implementation of the model, the business focuses on investing in landscape with many green trees, flowers and miniatures harmoniously arranged in the factory premises, corridors and offices. Production space is designed to ensure ventilation, maximize natural light, and install a monitoring system for electricity and water use to improve energy saving efficiency.
The company also issued and strictly implemented regulations on environmental protection, labor safety and fire prevention and fighting. Thanks to that, the awareness of workers' compliance with labor discipline, maintaining environmental sanitation and ensuring safety in production has been increasingly improved. For 10 consecutive years, the company has not had any serious labor accidents, and workers' lives have been improved with an average income of 19-20 million VND/person/month.
From initiatives that bring great value to businesses to his dedication to union members, Mr. Luu Trung Bo has been praised and rewarded many times by trade union levels.
