Hai Phong Police warn of the consequences of illegal labor export

Hai Phong - The City Police have warned about the consequences of illegal labor export, in which many people are defrauded and appropriated property.

On June 17, Hai Phong City Police informed: In recent years, the demand for jobs abroad of people has been increasing, especially for the general labor group, professional qualifications and foreign languages are still limited. Due to difficult economic conditions and lack of stable jobs, many people want to seek opportunities to change their lives in developed countries.

However, instead of choosing legal labor export programs, some people have turned to illegal routes with the hope of saving costs, reducing recruitment conditions and quickly being allowed to exit the country. This psychology has become a "fertile ground" for brokers and organizations taking people abroad illegally to take advantage of their activities.

Grasping the needs of the people, many subjects at home and abroad have formed organizational and brokerage lines for people to flee abroad or stay abroad illegally to work and earn money. Notably, many individuals and businesses that do not have the function of sending workers to work abroad still use many sophisticated tricks to lure people.

Through groups and fan pages on social networks such as Facebook, Zalo, TikTok..., subjects regularly post attractive recruitment information with advertisements such as "earnings of tens of millions of VND per month", "no need for skills", "no need for foreign languages", "quick exit". Many people, due to lack of information and gullibility, have become victims of these scams.

Reality shows that many cases after illegal exit have fallen into the situation of being exploited for labor, forced to work in dangerous environments or being controlled and threatened by human trafficking organizations; easily being forced by employers to work beyond the prescribed time, not being paid in full or having personal papers kept.

When disputes, labor accidents or health-related issues occur, they have almost no legal basis to protect their own rights. Many cases of being defrauded of property, losing hundreds of millions of VND in brokerage fees but not being allowed to exit the country; or being abandoned abroad in a state of having no papers, no jobs, no place to reside. There have been cases of workers being abused, violated... when participating in illegal exit rings.

Faced with the above situation, the Investigation Security Agency - Hai Phong City Police recommends that people need to raise their awareness of vigilance against invitations and advertisements about jobs abroad with unusually high salaries or commitments of "easy exit, unconditional": People should absolutely not hand over money or personal papers to individuals or organizations with unclear legal status; and at the same time, they need to proactively learn carefully about information about businesses and programs to send workers to work abroad before registering to participate.

When detecting suspicious signs related to fraud, illegal emigration brokerage or organizing illegal emigration, people need to quickly notify the police or local authorities to promptly prevent and handle according to the provisions of law.

For those who need to work abroad, it is necessary to contact functional agencies, employment service centers or businesses licensed to send workers to work abroad under contract for advice and support. Only choosing a legal path is a safe and sustainable solution, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of workers, avoiding unfortunate consequences that may occur.
