Chairman of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation Do Tran Thinh said that in the first 6 months of 2026, the Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation directed grassroots trade unions and professional unions (CĐCS, NĐ) to well perform the function of representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; send trade union officials to participate in the Provincial Working Group to grasp the situation of labor relations, the payment of salaries and Tet bonuses at enterprises, especially enterprises with many workers.
Notably, organizing the program "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" with over 600 union members participating; deploying activities to visit and give 12,500 gifts to 682 grassroots trade unions, with an amount of 12.5 billion VND from trade union financial sources and socialization mobilization.
The program "Trade Union Tet Market - Spring 2026" reaches grassroots trade unions and children's unions, guiding and supporting nearly 5,600 union members to buy goods on the online software "Trade Union Tet Market", with a total amount of 2.8 billion VND, with over 90% of union members participating in shopping.
The grassroots trade unions directly under it have coordinated with the government, localities, and businesses to organize Tet care activities for union members and workers. Since the beginning of 2026, it has considered supporting the new construction and repair of 7 "Trade Union Shelter" houses for union members in difficult housing circumstances with an amount of 300 million VND.
In particular, Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health have many practical activities, towards grassroots levels. Organizing 2 "Health Days for union members and workers"; Establishing 3 Working Groups of the Provincial Labor Federation to visit and give gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances in grassroots trade unions and enterprises. There are 138 grassroots trade unions of enterprises with 100 or more union members organizing Workers' Month activities, a rate of 100% compared to the target assigned by the General Confederation.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Ngo Phuong Vu, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, said: This is the first preliminary review conference of the new An Giang Provincial Trade Union organization, organized in a rather special context, the entire political system of the province is operating under the model of a two-level local government. The management area has been expanded, the number of union members and workers has increased significantly, while the team of trade union officials is mostly part-time, both working and consolidating the organization. In such difficult and busy conditions, the results achieved in the past 6 months are very commendable and worthy of praise.
Regarding tasks for the last 6 months of the year, the Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province requested the Provincial Labor Federation to continue to closely coordinate with the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at the same level in grasping the thoughts, aspirations, and public opinion among workers, union members, and laborers; promptly reflect and propose to Party committees and authorities pressing and legitimate issues, not allowing hot spots to arise, especially in industrial zones and clusters, and labor-intensive enterprises. Continue to coordinate to widely and effectively implement patriotic emulation movements and major campaigns of the Fatherland Front among workers, civil servants, and laborers, associated with bringing the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels, Resolutions of Congresses of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province and Resolutions of Trade Union Congresses at all levels into life. Continue to promote the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions, especially in the non-state business sector and newly merged areas.
