With the specific characteristics of coal mining, screening, and transportation, many departments have to work in harsh environments, especially working in ground blocks, outdoors, factories, and wharves.
The Trade Union of units of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation has coordinated with experts to review working conditions, adjust working hours, supplement cooling equipment, supply cooling water and support funding for workers to prevent and combat heat.
At Nam Mau Coal Company, a unit with more than 4,000 officials and workers, the Company's Trade Union has surveyed and collected opinions from units, especially the site block.
From the grassroots' proposal, the Company's Trade Union donated 24 12-liter water tanks, 40 air conditioning jackets, supplemented 22 industrial fans and installed sunshades for ground block units; supported 300,000 VND/person for workers to proactively buy more heating tanks; proposed that the company support underground workers with 1.5 million VND/person, ground block workers with 1 million VND/person during peak heat.

At Cua Ong Coal Selection Company - TKV, the Company's Trade Union has issued a Plan for health care and heat protection for workers.
According to the plan, the trade union coordinates with professional departments to adjust working hours reasonably for outdoor workers; limit prolonged work arrangements during hot weather.
The Trade Union of Cua Ong Coal Selection Company spends health care costs at a rate of 100,000 VND/person so that workers can proactively buy cooling water.
Mr. Do Van Tang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Cua Ong Coal Selection Company - TKV - said that before the hot season, the company reviewed and supplemented cooling equipment, ventilation fans, misting, creating a clear air flow at factories and workplaces. The Trade Union also supervises shift meals, adjusts menus accordingly, and cooks cooling porridge to serve workers every day.
In addition to hot weather prevention solutions in the hot season, the Trade Union of Cua Ong Coal Selection Company also implemented many welfare programs such as organizing for 147 outstanding typical officials and employees to visit Phu Quoc; 221 people with weak health to go on vacation, support treatment in Sa Pa; building a joint resolution to spend money for all officials and employees to go on weekend vacation in 2026 with a level of 1.5 million VND/person.
In harsh weather conditions, trade union care activities contribute to protecting health, improving working conditions, and helping workers feel secure in production. Thereby, further affirming the role of the trade union organization in accompanying workers and businesses, building harmonious and sustainable labor relations.
