On April 25, at the Dien Bien Provincial Multi-purpose Sports Center, the National Sports Dance Club Championship and the National Sports Dance Cup 2026 officially opened.
The tournament takes place from April 24 to 27, attracting the participation of more than 650 officials, coaches and athletes from 36 delegations across the country.
This year, the tournament gathers many outstanding athletes from provinces, cities and strong clubs such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Can Tho, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Dong Nai...
The competition contents are organized continuously throughout the day, combined with awarding medals immediately after each part of the competition, creating a lively and attractive atmosphere.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province said that this is the first time Dien Bien has hosted a national-level sports dance tournament, marking a step in the development of the sports movement in the Northwest region.
The organization work was also carefully prepared by the province, from facilities, equipment, competition venues to operating scenarios. Security and order, health and logistics plans were also carefully built.
According to Mr. Hiep, the tournament is a national-scale sports playground, creating an opportunity for Dien Bien to introduce its tourism, culture, and human potential. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for athletes to exchange, learn, improve their professional qualifications and strengthen solidarity in the sports community.
