The Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade (VTC) is currently managing and directing 14 trade unions at the grassroots level and 506 affiliated grassroots trade unions, with 141,004 union members/148,609 workers (reaching a rate of 94.88% of union members/total number of workers).
Mr. Le An Hai - Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that in the past time, despite many difficulties, especially in the work of restructuring the Trade Union organization, union members and workers (DV, NLD) in the Industry and Trade sector always believe in and closely follow the leadership and direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, promote the spirit of solidarity, steadfast psychology, proactiveness in direction and management; clearly identify key and key tasks to focus on directing and implementing many new and creative tasks, with many suitable solutions, organize activities and implement tasks to achieve high results.
The activities of trade unions at all levels have received timely attention and direction from the Party Committee, effective coordination of the government, and peer-level expertise. In particular, the proactive, positive and creative role of union cadres at all levels in directing activities, organizing emulation movements, and taking good care of the material and spiritual lives of employees at the unit.
The work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions has been focused on; the function of caring for, representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers has been focused on in many forms.
In particular, it is worth focusing on directing the implementation of the Resolution of the 4th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; doing a good job of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers through the Tet Sum Vay Program, organizing visits and giving gifts to workers in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, activities during the 2025 Workers' Month; widely propagating the Party's resolutions, the State's policies and laws, and resolutions of Trade Unions at all levels to a large number of union members and workers.
According to the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, in the coming time, trade unions at all levels will coordinate with employers to effectively implement democratic regulations at the grassroots level; improve the quality of negotiation, signing and implementation of collective labor agreements, focus on negotiating on wages and basic issues on safe working rights and welfare for employees.
Continue to implement the union member welfare program. Proactively seek new partners with new products and services, negotiate and sign to bring better benefits to employees. Mobilize union members and employees to actively participate and support social and charity activities; at the same time, encourage employers to care for and support union members and employees in difficult circumstances.
Strengthen propaganda and mobilization work to develop union members, establish grassroots unions, complete and exceed the 2025 target; promote the introduction and training of outstanding union members for the Party to consider admitting.
Strengthen emulation movements, especially the movement "Good workers - Creative workers"; the movement "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene" associated with the campaign to build agencies, units, and enterprises that meet cultural standards; the movement "Good at public work, good at home work" among female employees; Campaign to build " Loyal, responsible, honest, and creative" cadres, civil servants, and public employees, Campaign "Consistent, honest, and creative" ... Organize emulation movements, with focus and key points, associated with specific criteria, in accordance with the actual conditions of the industry, agency, and unit.
Actively implement training, fostering, coaching, and planning for union officials. Focus on training, fostering and coaching union officials from workers.
