
The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation is currently managing more than 2.2 million union members and over 22,000 grassroots unions (CDCS). In the first 6 months of 2025, nearly 1.16 million union members and workers have benefited from policies from the care activities of the Trade Union organization during the Lunar New Year with a total budget of VND 1,083.3 billion.
The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation has awarded the "Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union" scholarship with the highest level of nearly 16 million VND, the lowest level is 2.1 million VND to 28 workers and civil servants (CNVCLD) to support and encourage the spirit of workers to be confident in the future, continue to strive for the development of themselves, their families and society.
Ho Chi Minh City trade unions at all levels have awarded 17,257 Nguyen Duc Canh scholarships to children of union members and workers who have overcome difficulties and studied well, with a total cost of more than 13.32 billion VND; mobilized support to award 151 Trade Union Shelters to poor workers, repaired 18 Trade Union Shelters to union members with difficult housing circumstances with a total amount of nearly 9.58 billion VND. There have been 157,332 union members and workers who have benefited from the "Union member welfare" program with a total estimated amount of nearly 13.37 billion VND.
During the 2025 Workers' Month, Ho Chi Minh City trade unions at all levels organized many practical activities to care for union members and workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, occupational diseases and work-related accidents. Thereby, 108,044 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, serious illnesses, and occupational accidents were cared for with a total amount of more than 20.8 billion VND. The Fund for Supporting Workers, Civil Servants and Poor Workers is estimated to support 104,321 poor employees to borrow capital to expand production, business, and develop family economy with a total amount of nearly VND 2,807 billion.

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that the merger of three localities to form the new Ho Chi Minh City was a historic turning point, posing many new expectations and requirements for the entire political system, including the Trade Union organization. For the Trade Union organization, this is an opportunity to continue to innovate flexibly, ensure and streamline to improve operational efficiency, while ensuring the ability to closely follow the grassroots to better meet the needs, aspirations and legitimate rights of union members and workers in a new, more diverse and scale-based development space.
The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation will always be receptive, listening and proactively approaching the requirements of practice, both working, researching and adapting. The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation has identified strengthening the organization, improving the quality of the staff, quickly perfecting and putting the Executive Board of the Ward, Commune and Special Zone Trade Unions into disciplined activities, promoting the application of technology and enhancing connectivity between trade unions at all levels as priority tasks in the coming time.
