Change the way of propaganda
The Da Nang City Labor Federation is implementing a series of activities to propagate the Labor Law and the Social Insurance Law for workers in businesses and boarding houses in the city.
One of the new points this year is that propaganda has shifted its space, from concentrating in administrative halls as every year to factory production workshops.
At businesses such as Celebrity Fashion Vina, CTR Vina or Vinh Gia, hundreds of workers have had direct access to content about social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance right at their workplaces.
The content is no longer spread out but focuses on issues close to workers such as sick leave, maternity leave, unemployment, procedures for enjoying benefits...
The point worth mentioning is that the way of communication has also changed. Instead of reading and listening in a one-way direction, reporters apply specific situations, associated with real life. In particular, the direct dialogue part helps workers to ask questions immediately and get answers to their problems immediately.
Mr. Tran Hien - a worker working at Tam Thang Industrial Park, Da Nang city shared: "There are very small things, such as how to calculate holidays or insurance procedures, but if you don't ask, it's still vague. Being explained right at the company, I understand more clearly, and I no longer worry about losing my rights.
Not stopping at the factory, the policy is also brought by the Da Nang Trade Union to the boarding house area, where a large part of workers live, and the chain of activities in Hoa Khanh ward is a typical example.
More than 300 workers belonging to 11 Self-managed Workers' Groups participated in propaganda sessions on the Labor Law and the Social Insurance Law, reaching a rate of 100% of groups being exposed. The organization space stretches from community activity houses to schools, suitable for workers' living conditions after work hours.
The fact that the Da Nang Trade Union goes to the places where workers live and work has helped policies become no longer unfamiliar, but become a part of daily life.
Diverse ways to do it
Another noteworthy point is that the propaganda work of the Da Nang Trade Union is becoming more diverse and flexible, aiming not only to convey but also to create proactive reception from workers.
In addition to direct dialogues at businesses, the propaganda model at boarding houses has been renewed in many lively forms.
At Hoa Khanh Ward Trade Union, propaganda sessions not only have speakers but also the participation of forces such as Social Insurance and Military Region 5. The content is conveyed in a friendly, easy-to-understand way, associated with everyday examples.
In particular, the integration of short comedy skits has created a different highlight. Staged stories reflect the real life of the boarding house, familiar labor situations, helping viewers both laugh and realize their own problems.
The atmosphere is therefore no longer dry, but becomes close and attractive. After each skit is an exchange, answering questions, receiving gifts... to create two-way interaction, helping legal knowledge to be remembered naturally.
We determine that policy communication cannot be done in a single way. Each group of workers, each space needs a different approach. When the content is correct and the way of doing things is appropriate, workers will actively receive it, not just listen for show" - Mr. Nguyen Ky Vinh - Deputy Head of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks, Da Nang City Labor Federation, said.
Reality shows that when the way of doing things changes, the effectiveness also changes. Workers not only understand their rights but also boldly ask questions, proactively learn and protect their rights.
From production workshops to boarding houses, from conferences to stages, the policy propaganda work of the Da Nang Trade Union is very diverse in ways to aim for the goal that policies not only reach but also "penetrate" workers.
And when workers understand the law and believe in policies, they are not only beneficiaries, but also become actors contributing to building harmonious and stable labor relations, creating an important foundation for the sustainable development of each business and of the whole city.
