Da Nang City Labor Federation has just organized a delegation to visit, encourage and provide support to families of union members of Nui Thanh Commune Fisheries Trade Unions with fishermen missing in the QNa-90859-TS fishing boat sinking incident.
From the City Trade Union Social Activity Fund, the City Labor Federation supports 5 million VND for each case of missing fishermen. The unit also participates with city leaders, departments and branches to visit and give gifts to rescued fishermen who returned safely. The support level is 2 million VND/person.
Previously, a working delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan, Standing Vice Chairwoman, visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to the families of the missing crew members.
Immediately after the injured fishermen were brought ashore, Da Nang city leaders supported 32 fishermen, each person 5 million VND. The city's Relief Mobilization Committee also supported each fisherman with 5 million VND. Departments and branches presented more gifts to encourage the crew members after the incident.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee, emphasized that the government and functional forces will continue to accompany and care for fishermen to feel secure in going offshore, sticking to the sea, and developing the economy.
As Lao Dong newspaper reported, at about 1:30 pm on August 26, Da Nang city received news that squid fishing vessel QNa-90859-TS with captain Huynh Van Tri and 49 crew members lost contact. By 1:25 pm on August 28, 32 crew members were discovered and rescued. On the morning of September 3, the crew members were brought ashore by Truong Sa 18 vessel.
