Thanh Hoa - Rising floodwaters cut off the road to the burial site, people joined hands to build a temporary bamboo bridge across the stream to mourn the deceased.

On September 17, Mr. Ha Cong Chinh - Head of Thanh Lam village, Pu Luong commune, Thanh Hoa province - said that local authorities and people had just supported a family to organize a funeral, bringing the deceased to the burial place in complicated flood conditions.

According to Mr. Chinh, on September 16, a family in Thanh Lam village had a death right at the time of heavy rain and rising floodwaters, causing many difficulties for the funeral procession.

Faced with that situation, the family, village and local people together built a temporary bamboo bridge to bring the coffin across the floodwaters" - Mr. Chinh said.

Also according to Mr. Chinh, to build a temporary bridge across the Tech stream, the village and family mobilized about 40 people, working continuously for about 2 hours.

After the bridge was completed, the family, neighbors and local people braved the rain and together carried the coffin across the stream to bring the deceased to his burial place.
