In Tan Uyen city, Chi Hung Company Limited (export shoe production) is one of the enterprises with a large number of workers (about 7,000 workers). Every year, this enterprise has many activities to take care of the material and spiritual life of workers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Chairwoman of the company's Trade Union - said that in addition to salary, the company maintains the 13th month bonus and many welfare policies for employees, especially female employees, every year. At the company, 80% are female workers. Through monitoring, it was noted that the rate of female workers on leave due to gynecological diseases and illegal abortions has increased every month. In that context, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union has proposed implementing the solution "Improving the quality and efficiency of health care for female workers through the Workers' Club with Reproductive Health".
The Chairman of the Trade Union has coordinated the establishment and organization of periodic training on knowledge, skills, and experience for the Labor Club with reproductive health. Since then, the Club has organized activities for all employees regularly every week to equip them with more knowledge about reproductive health, sexual health and family planning.
The club operates regularly with 40 key union members, and the company's leadership creates favorable conditions for operation.
Opening a kindergarten to support female workers in child care
In Binh Duong, many businesses have spent billions to open kindergartens to teach and keep children of workers.
NALT Garment Company Limited (An Dien Ward, Ben Cat City, Binh Duong Province) built Quoc Te Garment Kindergarten in 2008. Chi Hung Company Limited opened a kindergarten to teach workers' children since 2015. Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. (My Phuoc ward, Ben Cat city) opens Vang Anh Kindergarten.
According to the Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor, there are currently 11 enterprises investing in building kindergartens for children of workers in the whole province. At these facilities, businesses spend money to build schools and pay teachers and staff. The school also exempts or reduces tuition fees or collects part of the daily meals for the children. The school takes care of children during the break, so the workers work with peace of mind.
