The program aims to share difficulties and add strength to union members and workers to overcome illness, stabilize their lives and continue to be attached to the Trade Union organization.
The working delegation visited Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, a member of the grassroots Trade Union of Hoang Gia Production-Trading Co., Ltd., who is being treated for breast cancer. Ms. Mai's health has seriously declined, and each treatment course costs about 10 million VND in medicine, mainly thanks to the support of her children.
Ms. Mai's family is in particularly difficult circumstances, the house she is living in is a charity house built with support. Although she is being treated for illness, when her health is stable, she still tries to work to earn extra income, covering medical expenses and living expenses.
The delegation also visited Mr. Vo Van Tri, a member of the grassroots Trade Union of Delta Galil Vietnam Co., Ltd. Mr. Tri suffers from many serious diseases such as bone marrow cancer, tumors in the spinal cord, soft paralysis of both lower limbs and many other complications, and has to be treated regularly at Cho Ray Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City). Both Mr. and Mrs. Tri are low-income workers, while prolonged treatment costs make family life very difficult.
The third case is Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Thuy, an employee of Phu Cat Medical Center. Ms. Thuy suffers from severe congenital heart disease, while her husband is being treated for terminal lung cancer, complications leading to loss of vision and requiring regular care. The burden of illness and treatment costs have put the family in particularly difficult circumstances.
At the families, the delegation cordially inquired about the health and life situation, shared the difficulties that union members are facing, and presented gifts of support from the Program "Gifts from the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress". The delegation hoped that union members would maintain an optimistic spirit, actively treat, soon overcome illness and stabilize their lives. According to the Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation, although the gifts are not of great material value, they show the concern and responsibility of the Trade Union organization for union members and workers in particularly difficult circumstances. Thereby contributing to spreading the spirit of mutual affection and affirming the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for the lives of union members and workers.
In Gia Lai, the program "Gifts from the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress" presented 301 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, suffering from dangerous diseases or occupational diseases, with a total budget of 374 million VND.
