On December 28, at the conference to summarize the year 2024 and deploy the direction and tasks for 2025, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Binh Dinh Economic Zone Trade Union Nguyen Duc Long said: “Thanks to closely following the direction of the superior trade union, the annual work program and the practical situation at the enterprise, the trade union activities in 2024 at the unit are increasingly diverse, rich and practical. The theme of caring for the lives and jobs of workers is concretized in many ways. Labor relations are harmonious and stable, without any complicated incidents. Propaganda and education work continues to have many innovations. Workers' Month activities are taking place enthusiastically, with strong influence and encouragement".
In 2024, Binh Dinh Economic Zone Union coordinated to promptly resolve complaints from employees at 8 enterprises; directly consulted and provided legal support to 70 cases and indirectly to 120 cases regarding wages, severance pay, unemployment insurance, and compensation for illegal termination of labor contracts.
In the field of caring for union members and workers, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, the affiliated trade unions coordinated with business owners to support more than 13.4 billion VND in cash and Tet gifts for 22,795 people in difficult circumstances. In the program "Tet Sum vay - Xuan chia chia", the Trade Union proposed to the Provincial Federation of Labor and directly mobilized funds to visit and give gifts to 1,440 union members and workers with an amount of 1.129 billion VND; gave 145.5 million VND to 146 workers of CJ Agri Company Limited - Binh Dinh Branch, a business without a trade union organization.
Social work and volunteer activities are maintained and promoted. During the flood caused by storm No. 3 (Yagi) in the northern provinces, 16 trade unions and 2 individuals donated nearly 190 million VND through the account of the Trade Union; union members, employees and enterprises with affiliated trade unions donated 8.5 billion VND through the mobilization channels of the Relief Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels.
The patriotic emulation movement, making achievements to celebrate important political and historical events of the country and the province at all levels of the economic union has been widely deployed, focusing on the movement "Good workers - Creative workers". With the motto of creativity, flexibility, and suitability to practical conditions, most enterprises have appeared with technical initiatives, high profit value, recognized and rewarded.
At the conference, Binh Dinh Labor Federation awarded certificates of merit to 8 collectives and 39 individuals; Provincial Trade Union awarded certificates of merit to 17 collectives and 77 individuals with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement and trade union activities in 2024.
