The Trade Union of Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital (BVĐK) has become a fulcrum for union members suffering from critical illnesses with timely and practical support.

Supporting union members with critical illnesses

During her work at Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital, Ms. H.T. T, a nurse at the General Internal Medicine Department, suffered from a serious illness. She had to take sick leave for treatment at the Oncology Department of the hospital. From a person who regularly took care of patients' health, Ms. T fell into a difficult situation when she had to endure pain from the disease and bear great economic pressure.

In June 2026, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital issued an open letter, calling on officials, employees and workers in the hospital to join hands to support Ms. T. From there, more than 112 million VND has been raised and representatives of the hospital's Trade Union handed it directly to the female nurse.

Another difficult case that also received timely companionship was Mr. H.S. T. M, an employee at the Rehabilitation Department of Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital. Mr. M was seriously ill and transferred to a higher level hospital for long-term treatment at Hue Central Hospital. The costs of buying medicine and hospital fees accumulated day by day, far exceeding his family's economic capacity.

In July 2026, the Trade Union of Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital provided initial financial support, then launched a campaign and received joint efforts from union members and workers at the hospital. Thanks to that, a source of financial support was mobilized to be given to Mr. M's family with a total amount of more than 100 million VND. Receiving the support money from the Trade Union, Ms. T expressed her deep gratitude to her colleagues who gave her strength to overcome the serious illness. Mr. M said that this help is a priceless spiritual support to help him bravely fight against illness.

Do not leave union members alone when facing difficulties

Mr. Truong Vinh Quy - Chairman of the Trade Union of Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital - said that caring for the lives and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers is always one of the tasks prioritized by the hospital's Trade Union.

According to Mr. Quy, for union members who are sick, have serious illnesses or are in particularly difficult circumstances, the Trade Union first of all organizes visits, encouragement and material support according to current regimes and regulations. For cases that require long-term treatment, high costs, and the support according to the regime cannot meet actual needs, then the Hospital Trade Union Executive Committee will find more appropriate solutions to support union members.

One of the ways that the Trade Union of Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital maintains is to issue open letters, mobilize voluntary sharing among union members, officials, employees and workers. Each person contributes a part, thereby creating a significant resource to help colleagues overcome difficult times.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tuyet - Deputy Head of the Trade Union Affairs Committee, Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation - assessed that promptly grasping the circumstances, visiting, supporting and mobilizing resources to help union members with dangerous diseases of the Trade Union of Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital is a practical and meaningful action. "These activities clearly show the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for the lives of union members, especially at times when workers encounter upheavals and difficulties. Through this, the spirit of mutual affection in the unit is spread, and at the same time helps union members have more trust and attachment to the Trade Union organization" - Ms. Tuyet analyzed.
