Giving support to 170 children with dangerous diseases in Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organizes a program to connect social resources to care for children with dangerous diseases.

On July 30, at Children's Hospital 1, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the Management Council of the Ho Chi Minh City Social Security Fund to implement the program "Accompanying and caring for children with dangerous diseases", calling on organizations, businesses and individuals to join hands to support children in difficult circumstances being treated at hospitals in the city.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - said that protecting, caring for and educating children, especially children with dangerous diseases, is not only the responsibility of the health sector but also requires the joint efforts of the entire political system and the whole society.

The program is built in the direction of long-term companionship, not only supporting treatment costs but also connecting social resources to care for nutrition, mental health and learning conditions for children with dangerous diseases.

At the event, 170 pediatric patients being treated at Children's Hospital 1 were also given care gifts. Each gift is worth 300,000 VND, including milk, cakes and essential necessities to encourage the spirit of children and their families.

According to the organizers, currently Ho Chi Minh City has about 1,000 children with dangerous diseases being monitored and treated at medical facilities. Many families face great pressure on treatment costs, care and living expenses for a long time.

Since the launch of the program, many units and individuals have registered to support with an amount of over 2.6 billion VND and milk, nutritional food, 2 playgrounds, 2 learning spaces for children at hospitals.

In addition to directly supporting pediatric patients at 5 hospitals including Children's Hospital 1, Children's Hospital 2, Children's Hospital of the City, Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital and Ho Chi Minh City Blood Transfusion - Hematology Hospital; in the coming time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will continue to mobilize contributions to the Ho Chi Minh City Social Security Fund and coordinate to organize community activities to create resources to regularly care for children with dangerous diseases in the city.
