According to a report by the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ), from July 13 - 18, trade union levels in the province deployed many key activities towards the 97th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2026), while taking care of and protecting the rights of union members and workers.
During the week, the Provincial Labor Federation summarized trade union activities in the first 6 months of 2026 and summarized Workers' Month. On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor commended 5 collectives and 31 individuals; the Provincial Labor Federation awarded certificates of merit to 41 typical collectives and individuals in Workers' Month 2026.
The Provincial Labor Federation also submitted to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for consideration and awarding the Medal "For the Cause of Building Trade Union Organizations" in 2026 to 10 qualified officials; organized a Judging Panel Meeting for the Video Clip Creation Contest on social network platforms and continued to implement the online contest to learn about Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW among union members.
In parallel, the unit is developing a plan to organize trade union professional training classes in August 2026; assigning officials to participate in training on policies and laws organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in Ho Chi Minh City.
Regarding organizational development, in the week, trade union levels admitted 66 more union members, newly established 3 grassroots trade unions; renamed one grassroots trade union and recognized the results of additional elections of chairmen and executive committee members at 3 grassroots trade unions.
Many activities to care for union members have also been implemented. Grassroots trade unions in Vinh Long, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh regions selected children of union members in difficult circumstances to receive 200 gifts of handwriting for reading and learning English distributed by the General Confederation.
Notably, the grassroots Trade Union of Ty Xuan Co., Ltd. coordinated with businesses to donate 140 million VND to support 2 union members with cancer, awarded scholarships worth 24.5 million VND to children of union members who overcome difficulties and study well, and organized the 2026 Workers' Singing Contest.
Meanwhile, the grassroots Trade Union of Ty Bach Co., Ltd. organized sports festivals and singing contests for workers with a total budget of more than 331 million VND.
Currently, Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation manages 7 commune and ward trade unions; 653 grassroots trade unions, grassroots trade unions with 177,861 union members out of a total of 185,314 workers.
