On July 19, Border Guard Intermediate School 24 said that the unit had mobilized officers, trainers and nghiệp vụ dogs to participate in searching for missing people in Chit village, Muong Than commune, Lai Chau province - a place heavily damaged by flash floods.
Professional dogs were taken to collapsed houses, areas of mud, trees and large rocks silted up to search and discover traces of missing victims.
In dangerous terrain conditions, officers and trainers both ensure safety for the force and support nghiệp vụ dogs to overcome obstacles to perform tasks.
Each area suspected of being buried was thoroughly checked.
Professional dogs continuously search for air sources at collapsed houses, piles of trees, soil and rocks, and along the stream flowing through residential areas.
At the scene, the forces of Border Guard Intermediate School 24 closely coordinated with Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard, local authorities and functional forces to organize many search teams, focusing on key areas with traces or information related to missing people.
According to Border Guard Intermediate School No. 24, the two nghiệp vụ dogs participating in this search are both deeply trained in search, rescue, and relief.
The ability to detect air sources helps expand the search range, improving efficiency in the context of the scene being buried by mud, trees and large rocks.
Up to now, search and rescue work is still being urgently deployed by the forces. Officers, trainers and nghiệp vụ dogs continue to closely monitor the scene, survey each area with the determination to soon find those still missing.
