According to a report by the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation, from April 27 to May 2, the Standing Committee and the Standing Board participated in many important political and social activities, associated with caring for the lives of union members and workers.
The Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation attended the ceremony to celebrate the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day, commended typical grassroots trade union presidents and the conference to contribute documents to the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress.
At the same time, participating in the memorial service, offering flowers, and incense to commemorate heroic martyrs organized by the Provincial People's Committee, showing the morality of "drinking water, remembering the source", educating traditions for officials and union members.
Vice Chairmen, Members of the Standing Committee, Executive Committee attended the art program celebrating the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification and many cultural and social activities in the area.
In parallel, the Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Department of Health to exchange plans for health check-ups, health consultations, and medicine distribution for workers in industrial parks; participate in inspecting and supervising the implementation of labor laws at enterprises.
During the week, the unit also served the program of visiting and giving gifts from Party and State leaders to 100 union members and workers, each part including 2 million VND in cash, contributing to sharing difficulties.
In addition, the Provincial Labor Federation reported on the current situation of the contingent of officials according to the 2-level government model, summarized comments on the documents of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress and proposed to remove trade union financial obstacles.
Currently, the whole province has 3 commune and ward trade unions, 629 grassroots trade unions with nearly 175,000 union members, continuing to be cared for through many practical activities, towards workers.
