Workers work through the night to fix the problem
According to Lao Dong Newspaper, storm No. 3 caused heavy rain and whirlwinds in Hoa Binh province, severely affecting the assets of the electricity sector. Accordingly, 78 poles of medium and low voltage lines were knocked down and broken; 2 transformers were damaged. At the peak when the incident first occurred, nearly 93,000 customers lost power.
Faced with that situation, electricity workers have made every effort, overcoming all difficulties, working day and night to fix the problem and restore power supply.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung (born in 1981, working at Cao Phong Power Company) shared that when receiving information forecasting that the storm could affect Hoa Binh province, the unit had workers carefully prepare equipment and materials. Mobilizing all human resources of the agency to deal with emergency situations caused by the storm. Each team is divided into 4-6 people, ready to respond to any situation that may arise.
According to Mr. Dung, when the storm began to affect the locality, the power lines in the district were severely affected, leading to widespread power outages, the most serious being the Long Giang line, Chi Ne town. In particular, the Doi bridge line, Yen Bong commune (Lac Thuy district) had to be moved by boat to fix the problem.
“The remote terrain, combined with fallen trees on power lines, made the recovery effort very difficult. Workers and technicians had to work through the night, using flashlights to saw off tree branches and clean up the scene.
Despite the difficulties, with the goal of quickly restoring electricity to the people, everyone tried their best. Up to now, the repair work has basically been completed," said Mr. Dung.
Similarly, Mr. Do Thuong Phong (born in 1987, currently working at Operation Team No. 2, Cao Phong Power Company) informed - not only during stormy days, but also on normal days, the unit must always be ready and operate promptly to ensure electricity supply.
On September 6, when the storm began to affect the district, heavy rain and strong winds caused power outages. The troubleshooting team started working at 9 p.m. and by around 11 a.m. the next day, they had basically finished handling the problem.
According to Mr. Phong, in the stormy weather conditions, dark skies and rugged mountainous terrain, the recovery work encountered many difficulties. In addition to the difficulty of moving in the dark, there were also risks from wild animals and limited visibility because the locality was still mainly covered with dense hills and mountains.
