Many practical and effective activities
Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City Labor Federation said: In Workers' Month, which has been organized for many years, Da Nang City Trade Union levels have organized many practical and effective activities, with rich and diverse forms of care, the target group of workers cared for has been expanded and covered more, and the care rate is increasing.
Thereby contributing to building the city's working class to be increasingly modern and strong; arousing the aspiration to contribute, the spirit of responsibility, and the capacity for innovation of union members and workers in production labor, improving labor productivity, making important contributions to the implementation of socio-economic development goals and targets of the city.
Departments, agencies, branches, localities, units and businesses have effectively organized the Action Month on occupational safety and health; and at the same time proactively coordinated with trade union organizations at all levels to organize well the annual Workers' Month with many practical activities, towards workers and businesses.
These activities have created a peak period in propaganda and dissemination of policies and laws on labor, ensuring employment and labor safety and hygiene to workers and people in the city.
Through this, the Trade Union and employers have clearly shown their responsibility and concern for workers; focusing on caring for material and spiritual life, improving working conditions and environment; ensuring safety, health, and life, while protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers.
Still many limitations
Besides the achieved results, occupational safety and health in Da Nang city still have some shortcomings and limitations.
In some places, the awareness and sense of compliance with labor safety and hygiene laws of employers and employees are not really complete; investment in improving working conditions and controlling dangerous and harmful factors has not been given due attention.
Training, self-inspection, and supervision at enterprises are sometimes, in some places, still formalistic. The situation of labor accidents and incidents in production is still complicated.
According to a report by the Da Nang City Department of Home Affairs, in 2025, there were 240 labor accidents in the city, causing 252 victims, including 10 deaths and 38 serious injuries. There were 68 cases due to the fault of employers, 147 cases due to the fault of employees and 25 cases due to objective reasons.
Regarding the causes, there are 15 cases due to not being equipped with personal protective equipment, 9 cases due to not being trained in safety, 8 cases due to unreasonable labor organization, 8 cases due to equipment not ensuring safety, 16 cases due to no safety procedures and measures, 12 cases due to poor working conditions, 90 cases due to workers violating procedures, 57 cases due to not using personal protective equipment and 25 cases due to other reasons.
On the other hand, the activities of Workers' Month in some units and businesses have not really gone into depth; the content and form of organization in some places are still lacking innovation, not fully meeting the needs and aspirations of workers.
Grasping the situation, thoughts, and aspirations of workers and laborers is sometimes not timely; the work of caring for material and spiritual life, especially for laborers in general in difficult circumstances, is still limited, especially in terms of housing, cultural and sports facilities...
The above limitations set out the requirement to continue to further strengthen the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels; the synchronous and drastic involvement of the entire political system, the business community and all workers in ensuring labor safety and hygiene and caring for and protecting workers.
