The workshop attracted about 110 delegates from provincial and city labor federations, central industry trade unions and relevant agencies and units, which is an activity in response to the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026.
The workshop focused on discussing many important contents such as: the current situation of policies and laws on occupational safety and health; application of digital technology in management; occupational disease prevention and control; such as the role of trade union organizations in labor risk management.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that in the context of continuous digital transformation, more and more new jobs and new forms of work are appearing. However, from here, more new safety and health risks for workers have also emerged, such as mental illness, stress disease and many diseases that are difficult to recognize and detect like common diseases.
Therefore, according to Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu, there needs to be a new perspective, a new approach in the new context, it is not possible to do it in the old way, but it is necessary to strengthen the application of digital technology and science and technology to work and supervise and handle safety risks for workers.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu requested delegates to focus on exchanging and clarifying new risks as well as the role of trade union organizations in protecting workers; to make recommendations and proposals to ministries, departments, and central agencies on solutions to improve the effectiveness of occupational safety and health in the digital age.
