Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung - Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor chaired the conference.
Founded in the August 1945 General Uprising, after 80 years of building, fighting and growing, under the absolute and direct leadership in all aspects of the Party and the help of the people, the Vietnam People's Public Security always plays a core role in the cause of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, truly being a sharp "safe" and "steel shield" to protect the Party, the State and the people; among which, there are protectors who are union members, workers and laborers.
Implementing the Regulations on coordination between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Ministry of Public Security, in recent years, the implementation of the movement of the entire people to protect national security, ensure social order and safety, and fight against crime, drugs, and social evils has effectively achieved many important results, creating strong changes in awareness and sense of responsibility of union members and workers. From there, security and order at the grassroots level are guaranteed, helping workers feel secure at work.
Trade unions regularly coordinate to exchange information, advise and propose to Party committees, authorities and police forces to promptly resolve strikes, work stoppages, difficulties and problems of enterprises, workers and laborers, not allowing reactionaries and criminals to take advantage of luring and inciting workers to participate in activities that cause disorder; do a good job of preventing, fighting, and stopping the manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" internally and sabotage activities of hostile forces in the field of labor and trade unions; ensure security and safety of agencies, industrial parks and economic zones. The work of preventing and combating crimes and social evils has been maintained, increasingly in-depth, bringing practical results, creating a safe and healthy environment for workers, civil servants, and laborers to work and produce with peace of mind; contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety and socio-economic development.
The trade union organization has increased the provision of information on the security and order situation among workers to the police force, focusing on coordination in handling reports and denunciations of crimes; promptly detecting and resolving issues related to the legitimate interests of workers at the grassroots level, coordinating to review and advise on timely, decisive and stable resolution of conflicts, disputes, complaints, strikes, and work stoppages at the grassroots level, especially complicated and prolonged cases, not allowing them to become "hot spots" of security and order in industrial parks and export processing zones.
The periodic coordination of organizing preliminary and summary activities, commendation and reward of collectives, individuals of workers, civil servants and laborers with outstanding achievements in the movement of the entire people to protect national security, prevent and combat crimes and social evils has received special attention and attention from the Ministry of Public Security and the General Confederation. Over the past 5 years, hundreds of typical workers, civil servants, and laborers with outstanding achievements in the movement of the entire people protecting national security have been commended and rewarded by the Ministry of Public Security and the General Confederation. Those activities have promptly motivated and encouraged workers, laborers, and union officials to actively respond, participate, and make more effective contributions to the movement "All people protect national security".
Through specific contents and activities in the past time, it has affirmed the role, responsibility and close and effective coordination of the Trade Union organization with the Police force in ensuring security and order and protecting national security;
At the seminar, delegates will discuss and propose many practical solutions to ensure security and safety for workers.
This is an event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the Vietnam People's Public Security Traditional Day, the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union.
