Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Cuc, born in 1974, residing in Truong Vinh ward, Nghe An province, Mr. Nguyen Vinh Khanh's wife, said that so far she has received hundreds of millions of VND in allowances and compensation after the labor accident that killed her husband.
Previously, on the afternoon of January 7, 2026, Mr. Nguyen Vinh Khanh, born in 1965, residing in Truong Vinh ward, Nghe An province, a worker of Thai Thinh General Consulting and Construction Joint Stock Company, had an accident while working at a construction site in Thanh Vinh ward.
“In the process of resolving the case, I received enthusiastic, responsible, and dedicated advice from officials of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation, especially Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Trade Union Affairs Committee, Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation. Ms. Huong has supported me a lot in all aspects to complete the dossier, resolve regimes and policies. I am a citizen, not understanding the law, so that support is very practical. My family respectfully thanks the Trade Union organization” - Ms. Cuc shared.
According to Ms. Cuc, the companionship of Trade Union officials not only helps families better understand the rights of workers when labor accidents occur, but also helps her have more spiritual support in difficult times.
Talking to reporters, Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Trade Union Affairs Committee, Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation - affirmed that advising, supporting, and accompanying workers and their families in cases of fatal and injured workplace accidents is the regular responsibility of the Trade Union organization. According to Ms. Huong, there are cases where dossiers are complicated, requiring many exchanges, working with many parties, so it is quite difficult. However, when the rights of workers are protected, when their families receive legitimate benefits, Trade Union officials feel very happy.
Protect legitimate rights
Over the past time, the Nghe An Trade Union organization has also actively accompanied and supported workers suffering from occupational diseases, including workers who used to work at Chau Tien Co., Ltd., Nam Cam Industrial Park, Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An. Previously, on March 26, 2024, the Nghe An Medical Examination Center organized medical examinations for 66 workers who have been and are working at Chau Tien Co., Ltd. As a result, 100% of the examined people suffered from pneumoconiosis at different levels. After a period of waiting, with the impact and continuous pursuit of the Trade Union, at the time close to the Lunar New Year At Ty, Chau Tien Co., Ltd. supported and paid other medical expenses and treatment for occupational diseases for 28 workers with a total amount of 365 million VND. At the same time, this enterprise compensated 21 workers suffering from occupational diseases with a total amount of nearly 1.4 billion VND.
