Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 44 of the 2022 Law on Emulation and Commendation, workers and farmers who comply with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws and meet one of the following criteria will be awarded or posthumously awarded the Third Class Labor Medal:
- Having outstanding achievements, being evaluated in the preliminary and final summary of emulation movements launched by ministries, departments, branches and provinces with a duration of 5 years or more;
- Having inventions and innovations that are applied effectively, have a wide range of influence and set an example in one of the fields under the management of the Ministry, department, branch, province or outstanding scientific and technological works or works in one of the fields under the management of the Ministry, department, branch, province;
- Contribute to the socio-economic development of the country, ensure social security, humanitarian charity, and apply scientific and technical advances;
- Having outstanding achievements in labor, work, production, business, study and scientific research or other fields, having influence and setting an example in one of the fields under the management of the Ministry, department, branch, or province;
- Won high international awards in the region;
- Workers with effective applied initiatives, contributions to training, fostering, and helping colleagues improve their professional qualifications and skills are recognized by the Ministry, industry, and province.
