Attending the conference were Mr. Quan Minh Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of Quang Ninh province; delegates of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and more than 400 workers and laborers.
The thematic voter contact program with workers and laborers is organized by the Provincial National Assembly Delegation in coordination with the Quang Ninh Provincial Labor Federation.
At the conference, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation (NA Delegation) informed voters about the results of the first session, 16th National Assembly; a number of important laws and resolutions were considered and passed by the National Assembly, including many contents directly related to workers and laborers.
At the voter meeting, there were more than 10 opinions and recommendations from workers, laborers and grassroots trade union representatives.
Opinions focused on practical issues related to life, employment and social security.
Voters proposed considering adjusting the regional minimum wage level to be suitable for actual living costs; strengthening inspection and handling of the situation of businesses delaying and owing social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance.
Some opinions proposed adjusting the retirement policy and pensions for workers working in heavy and hazardous environments; considering exemption and reduction of personal income tax for specific incomes of miners.
Voters also proposed developing a bus system to serve workers in industrial parks; strengthening food safety control at boarding houses and collective kitchens.
The recommendations at the hall have been discussed and partially answered by leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ninh province and departments and branches and will be answered in writing to voters.
Speaking at the voter meeting, Mr. Quan Minh Cuong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of Quang Ninh province - affirmed that the opinions of workers and laborers all come from practice, directly related to the rights and lives of workers.
The Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of Quang Ninh province will fully absorb the opinions and recommendations to summarize and forward to the National Assembly, Government and relevant agencies for consideration and settlement according to their authority.
Quang Ninh Provincial Party Secretary requested all levels, sectors, trade union organizations and businesses to continue to pay attention to and better care for the material and spiritual lives of workers and laborers, especially the direct labor force at construction sites and workshops; strengthen supervision of the implementation of social insurance policies.
Mr. Quan Minh Cuong added that Quang Ninh is implementing many solutions to improve the quality of life of people, including workers and laborers.
It is expected that in 2026, the province will issue a policy of periodic health check-ups for people, free textbooks for general education students; allocate resources to invest in environmental protection projects and upgrade medical examination and treatment facilities.
Quang Ninh Provincial Party Secretary wished workers and laborers to continue to promote the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" of the Mining Region's working class, contributing to the development of the locality.
At the conference, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation signed regulations on coordination with the Provincial People's Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ninh province for the period 2026 - 2031.
On the occasion of Workers' Month, the Conference Organizing Committee presented 100 gifts, each worth 1.5 million VND, to workers in difficult circumstances in the province.
